Reading the opening paragraphs of this book, I was immediately drawn in by the author’s deeply engaging writing style—so personal, so wise, so full of feeling. I knew I had to keep reading. I’m glad I did. Harmony Kwiker’s story is a modern day he-she-roe’s journey, the journey of how she learned to give voice to her deepest truth and reclaim her essential self. Hers is the story of Everywoman. In breath-taking detail, she gets up close and personal about such universal themes as motherhood after divorce, the sexual dynamics of male-female dating, the power of repressed emotions and ancestral wounds, healing through embracing emotional pain, owning your “No” as a woman, and opening to spiritual insight.

But this is not just a book for women. With fearless accounts from her own life story, she paints a vivid picture of how men are conditioned, how they pursue their needs for love and sex, how they behave when they fear rejection or loss, and how difficult it can be for a man to read a woman’s signals.

I love how nothing is taboo in this magnificent work. She sensitively reveals her own experiences with: growing up with a free-thinking, lesbian mother; dealing with compulsive eating and post-partum depression; doubting her lovability and her worth; and seeking validation through sex.

In the end, the reader comes away inspired and uplifted: If she can do it, I can do it! Pain can indeed be a doorway to the light. You really can develop beyond the limits of your personality type and your conditioning. Daily life really is the most compelling spiritual practice.

I urge you to get this book and read it all the way through as an act of self-care. I believe you’ll be much wiser for taking this journey with this gifted author.
